Every coffee shop has at least one side of big glass windows and even a huge windowpane.  Outside the window the flow of people and the noise of the traffic make the men and women inside the windows feel insecure.  However, the view outside is so beautiful that you can’t just cover it up.  So, how are you going to handle this? 

We handle this based on the reasoning that I want to see outside, I want to see passer-bys, I want to see the beautiful view…but I don’t want to be seen clearly by other people.  To entertain this we have adopted these ways to deal with our windows and they have proven to be very effective.
1. You want to design a frosted window sticker that will not completely allow people to see through it.  First, you need to take out the characteristics of the logo of the coffee shop.  For example, SPR Coffee uses the ‘S’ from the SPR coffee logo and we write many of them flowing throughout the sticker.  Some of the stickers can be solid or there can be designs in the frosted sticker where the parts that you can’t see through are opaque and the parts where the frosted sticker has been removed become clear.  The result is stickers which will make people come very close to the windows if they want to see through them, but I think no one will want to do this because they will run the risk of appearing kinky.
2. There are many different kinds of methods and designs of window stickers.  For example, we can stick the frosted sticker on the window and then at the central point you can clear a square shaped space where you can put some of the shop information.   Therefore, this kind of design can achieve privacy while serving as an advertisement.  If you think this design is too much trouble, of course you can stick the frosted sticker on the window then you can simply remove the parts of the frosted glass for the lettering.  In this way it can also be effective and have character.
3. When sticking the sticker completely on the glass we suggest following these procedures in order to achieve the purpose of cover: First, carefully place the decals on the stickers and if the temperature happens to be very high you can use water to help make sure the decals adhere to the sticker.  Second, mark the location and size of your sticker on the window.  Third, place the sticker in the designated spot and peel the sticker off 2 cm, then slowly peel the rest of the sticker off with the sticky side adhering to the window.  Fourth, use an exacto knife to carve out the spots marked by the decals.  To get the best results you must be careful and have patience.

If the coffee shop has multiple floors then don’t neglect the advertisement effect of the indoor stairs.  If you handle it well you can add a different atmosphere to the coffee shop which looks interesting.  As we all know, stairs are divided into two parts: the top of the stair and the face of the stair.  For the stairs, you can choose between the materials of wood or concrete.  As for choosing which material, it should be according to the situation of the site, but the face of the stairs will not be affected by this.  Here we can add up the size of the total area of the faces of the stairs and create an interesting picture.  The total area of the face of the stairs means for each flight of stairs the customer will be able to see a picture.

In SPR Coffee’s Headquarters in China we have pictures of jazz music on the stairs where each face of the stairs is a piece of the picture which has a different flavor.  The following is an introduction to the 3D mural on the face of the stairs:  SPR Coffee has made a breakthrough in space design and with this new design the 3D mural of the stairs makes the customers feel relaxed when they are walking up the stairs.  Here we have chosen jazz pictures from New Orleans.  We all know that New Orleans is the home of jazz music and jazz music is very popular because of the popularity and success of Louis Armstrong.  In the early 20’s he started a five person band and has become one of the greatest solo artists in the history of jazz.  Elvis’s music was also influenced by Armstrong, so New Orleans jazz music has had a strong and lasting life.  After a long time of development and after integration, jazz music became one of the common styles of music in the world today.  Because of this, world famous coffee shops choose his music to be the theme songs of the coffee shop.

The coffee shops in Europe or America are run as open area shops, and this style of coffee shop has reached some parts of the East, but has not been well received by the market.  Because of this we have designed some partitioned areas to cater to customers preferences.

There are many methods of handling the construction of the partitions, but we suggest adopting a simple way to handle this.  Why?  We think the interior decorations and partitions will follow the trends through time as well as following the customers’ preferences.  Therefore, this simple type of partition is the most suitable method for the coffee shop market right now.  Based on this concept, if coffee shops really need to build partitions then you can use light steel and plaster board.  Do not use bricks to build this partition, otherwise if you have a change in your way of thinking, a new idea or if the market changes you will have a huge construction job to do. 

We also suggest for the semi private areas to use a semi transparent black curtain.  You can also use glass to create partitions in which each piece of glass should be approximately 60-90 cm wide with 10 cm of space between each piece of glass.  Why are we doing this?  It’s for air circulation.  The last thing we do is put the ‘S’ for SPR Coffee on the glass and this sticker should be between 60 cm to 1.2 m high.  If you can, you should place a horn shaped light between the middle of the glass partition to create an even warmer atmosphere. 

The traditional way to handle partitions for the kitchen and restrooms is to use a brick wall or fireproof light steel and cement board to do the partitions.  We suggest using the way we mentioned above to make these partitions making sure to add the right amount of stainless steel plates to avoid potentially dangerous situations.

There are many different ways to design partitions.  Some people like to use “spaced wooden bars” to serve as partitions.  For example, 4 cm wide wooden bars can be used to create a partition of spaced wooden bars.  Save 2 cm between the 4 cm bars which is intended to help air circulation and to maintain the feeling of privacy but not being completely excluded from the surroundings of the coffee shop.
