The coffee bar’s operation system is the heart of the coffee shop. The main supplies and ingredients for the coffee are all located here, such as the Italian style coffee machine, American style coffee machine, coffee grinder, boiler, coffee press, sink, all kinds of coffee, caramels and flavorings, items for the coffee equipment, the display cooler for the cakes, drinks, daily specials sign, menu and so on. Therefore when we design the coffee shop we must pay special attention to this area in order to properly use all of our design ability.
The main service area must be bright because it’s the customers’ focus. The customers can see every move of the employees, so the design, the lighting, the color patterns and the decorations must be exquisite. It can’t appear untidy and haphazardly thrown together. Here are a few design points for the main service area:
1. In order to present the warmth of the coffee, we designed a fireplace under the bar where the fire expresses the enthusiasm and passion of the coffee. All around the world this is a design unique to SPR Coffee and has been nationally patented. This makes us very proud.
2. Red brick presents an antique and nostalgic feeling. We use red brick imported from America because it’s convenient, easily transported and easy to construct. We use this as a decorative material as we use modern materials to bring back traditional styles which can be seen in SPR Coffee shops.
3. You must recognize that some people don’t clearly understand the progression of coffee; therefore we specially made a display case under the cashier which is intended to educate people. The coffee beans in this case are divided into four sections including fresh coffee beans, cinnamon roast, French roast and espresso or Italian roast. The purpose for the design is to teach people in an entertaining way.
4. The design above the coffee counter must also have character. We don’t want to use the easy way that other shops use just by putting the lighting on the ceiling. We use a different style which is a fixture suspended in the air. We have round, oval, square, long, and abnormal design shapes. They are all different and there are a lot of different designs. The material of this piece can be wood, iron and fiber and they can be layered or individual, in all different shapes. All have different styles, and of course the most unique one is where we created a coffee bean shaped lighting unit which hangs from the ceiling. This is an original design of SPR Coffee.
5. Because the main coffee service area is the focus for everyone, it needs to be very bright. This is because the staff needs lots of light to make coffee and food; the customers need to be able to see the menu to order, to see the shelves for the merchandise, and to see the food display cooler. For all of these reasons this area needs to be bright. We have estimated that there will be more than 20 lights here, so of course this will make it bright. Some people might think too much light will waste electricity but if it’s not bright here the business you lose would be more than the money you would save from having fewer lights.

We use the best equipment during the process of roasting coffee beans. While roasting, the coffee beans tumble at a temperature of 200 degrees Celsius. The vent on the roasting machine allows the coffee shop to be full of the wonderful coffee aroma. Everyone and everything in the coffee shop is surrounded by the coffee smell. During the entire 15 minutes of roasting time the staff must constantly observe the temperature changes and the coffee beans’ condition to control the cracking of the coffee beans which must happen two times to reach the best controlled outcome.

We roast the coffee beans on site to accurately control the heat and temperature and make sure the coffee beans are heated correctly. The trend of American style Italian coffee has spread all around the world. What’s the reason for this style of coffee attracting so many customers? We have thought of a few reasons for this trend which are listed below:
The first reason is because the coffee cup is bigger. The main characteristic of coffee today is having a large cup. In the past, coffee was very expensive and you only got a small amount. But now they use large coffee mugs and the price is pretty much the same when compared to prices before. When drinking from a big mug people feel more satisfied, therefore of course there are more and more coffee lovers meeting together and drinking coffee.
The second reason is that more milk is added to coffee now. The distinguishing feature of Italian style coffee is that it has more milk. Sometimes the milk is over 2/3 cup. The third reason is that the coffee is sweeter now. In all the cold beverages you don’t need to add any sweetener because it has already been dissolved into the drink. Furthermore, people who have studied abroad have come back and have spread the word about how delicious coffee can be. So now people have started to love American style Italian coffee.
The fourth reason is that now there are all different kinds of food options. Construction requirements for the setting of the coffee operation counter

When setting SPR Coffee’s working operation system we have special requirements for the setting mode of strong and weak electricity for the wiring, the drainage system as well as the water intake system. Here are our regulations:
Strong electricity requirements: When we do the construction we do it according to the equipment we are using and we must reserve a place for the socket and wires. We must also follow the installation manual we wrote through these proceedings. The total amount of electricity used in the main coffee service area is different according to the size of it. For example SPR Coffee’s basic coffee operation counter needs 12 kilowatts of electricity, the more advanced style needs 15 kilowatts of energy and the most advanced special coffee operation counter needs 35 kilowatts of energy. During the construction we need to lead a one way cable to the power distribution center. After we transfer the SPR Coffee counter operation system to the franchise store, the installation and wiring should be completed under instruction from professional contractors.
Weak electricity requirements: For the internet line, stereo line and phone line the professional electrician will follow the blueprints according to the particular situation. If there is a big SPR Coffee iron statue of a man (a stereo speaker is inside), this place will need a power line and a stereo line.
Requirements for the drainage and water intake systems: The drain for the coffee machine is made with 5cm of PVC tubing and the mouth of the drain must be 3.5cm from the ground. The water intake tube uses plastic tubing with aluminum and the mouth of the water supply tube must be 5cm from the ground. During the construction the blueprints and the designated marked spots must be followed to save a place for the water intake tube (hot, cold, RO) and for the drain.
